I enrolled my black Labrador Retriever Puppy, Guinness in January 2007 when we first brought him home at 10 weeks of age. I researched all the vet insurance policies, and felt this one had the best coverage with the lowest premiums. I also had a friend who was a territory partner and she gave them a very good recommendation. I decided to give them a try, although still a little skeptical of an insurance plan, in terms of how easy it would be to make claims. To my delight, it was easier than I had ever imagined. I have already used the plan 4 or 5 times with no hitches at all. It is extremely easy to submit the forms, I just fax it in as soon as I get home from the vet and I usually get a response back within the day, sometimes within the hour! I have never had anything denied and feel we are treated extremely fair. My cheque is in the mail usually within the week! I have since recommended the plan to many others. Actually my brother in law is getting a new lab puppy tomorrow and he is signing him up right away as well. I will never be without an insurance plan again as a pet owner and can’t imagine finding a better plan than Trupanion.

Bali and Jazz' Pet Insurance Experience

I purchased Trupanion for Bali when she was a few months old, the vet advised me this was a good idea, and it was. Trupanion covered Bali for the claim I submitted in a timely manner. There was no doubt in my mind that when I purchased the 8 week old puppy Jazz, she would require the same coverage. Before she acquired any pre existing conditions, I was quick to sign her up on her first visit to the vet. Sure enough it wasn't long before Jazz had her first 2 minor ailments for which I submitted the claims. Both claims were approved without hesitation. I am indeed happy that I purchased Trupanion for my beloved pets. Thank you for offering this service.

Trupanion Protects Tigger the Cat

Last summer, shortly after we moved into our new home, my best bud Tigger escaped. I didn't see him for nearly 3 months. I searched and searched for him until I found him again. He was still in the neighborhood! I was estatic to have him back in my life. He has meant so much to me.

My experience got me thinking about what I would do if he became sick or injured and the bill be beyond our means. We could possibly pay by credit card, but how would we ever pay off the debt? Dear Trupanion:

In November of 2007, we rescued a 6 month lab mix from our local SPCA. She was so skinny-you could see her ribs. She had just been spade the day before in the hopes of a last chance adoption. My husband knew she was the dog for us as soon as he saw her!

I knew that vet bills could be expensive after having some issues with one of our cats, so I decided to look into pet insurance. Trupanion stood out over the rest. I even called and spoke to someone just to make sure what I read on the website was true. In March of 2008, we started our dog Roxy on a Trupanion policy.

Less than a year later, she needed surgery for patellar luxation of her knee, which would cost around $1,000.00. This is a huge expense for a family to absorb, and I wondered if my dog insurance would turn out to be too good to be true. Roxy had her surgery and I filed my claim. It was so easy and I couldn’t believe it when I received a check from Trupanion for 90% of what we paid for the surgery! It was all true!

Since then I have told everyone about this company and printed off nearly the entire website for my vet to look into and pass along to other clients. I feel so good about my decision to purchase health insurance for Roxy! Her knee is as good as new and she is the best dog. Thanks Trupanion!

Trupanion has been Stanley's true life saver, Stanley is only 2 year's old and has been diagnosed with severe constipation, he is still young and has a long life ahead of him, and the bills for his testing and medications have been adding up fast. In these hard times I am so thankful for Trupanion, being there to help with the bills. I have received their cheque's in a quite timely manner and all their reps have been friendly and helpful.
